Case 25: Sleeping

If you have been missing the buzzing, then you were probably sleeping.
***
Imagine this. It was raining and I got stranded in front of Jollibee without an umbrella. I was faced with a choice: do I cross the foot bridge, walk home, and allow myself to get wet or shall I wait for an Ateneo trike, not knowing one will even come, among other hopefuls? And so I waited for a few minutes until it became an hour. Thinking how foolish I was to be afraid of a drizzle, I decided to walk. As I was in the middle of the overpass, a trike did came and was quickly snatched by another passenger whose destination was not even Ateneo. I walked home feeling frustrated, soaking wet and with water inside my shoes.

Everything becomes pricier when you consider the opportunity costs.

Imagine this. It is almost an habit. If I sum up all the money and the prices of all the the things I have lost, misplaced, or thrown away by mistake, it will reach the amount of my parents' reported annual gross income. It happened again a couple of days ago when I lost Php500 due to a series of miscalculated actions. I searched everywhere, even came close to organizing my room. I retraced my steps, scanning the walkway from Faura to Cervini to Schmitt. After all the frenzy and stress of looking for the money, I gave up and planned to make up for it by not eating dinner for one week and felt depressed about it. I found it in my back pocket the next day.

Instead of waiting, it was better to assume you were sleeping.
